Roger Dannenberg, co-creator of Audacity, visits UPV

His stay took place within the framework of the CIAICO/2023/275 project, focused on artificial intelligence applications, co-directed by iTEAM researcher Jorge Sastre together with Nuria Lloret.

During his visit, Dannenberg led two events that brought together art and technology:

  • He presented “Accomplice”, his virtual performer system, live for the first time at the Alfons Roig Auditorium. The premiere featured the piece “Felicità y la Jauría”, conceived by Nuria Lloret, with music by Dannenberg and Jorge Sastre, dance by the Conservatori Superior de Dansa Nacho Duato, and projections by Stefano Scarani. It was an interdisciplinary performance addressing bullying through an artistic and transformative lens, supported by Soundcool, Cultura UPV, and various creative groups from the university.
  • In addition, Dannenberg conducted the workshop “AI Music Composition” at ETSIT, where he demonstrated how artificial intelligence can collaborate with musicians in the creative process, inspiring students and researchers to explore new ways of composing.
